Poplar

At ALASIA GREEN FOREST,focusing on the technical and marketing objectives, we are looking at the following:

• Poplar as sustainable culture for the territory's enhancement.
• Use of poplar as a tool for the socio-economic strengthening, among territory and enterprises with benefits for the whole chain.
• Production of high quality wood for uses in Building, Furnishing, Paper and light Packaging sectors.

Moreover, using poplar plants will bring a positive effect for the environmental benefits: agricolture, including soil and water protection, quick fixation of the atmospheric carbon (1m3 of wood = 1 t CO2 fixed) and biodiversity safeguarding.

The process environmental and technological of the production begins in the nursery with selected and certified materials, that are carried on in the field through intensive cultivations, to obtain a product able to satisfay high technological performances and, phytosanitary requirements.

The main clone selected and used for the aims above described isAF8.

It offers many advantages mainly concerning:

• Its capacity to produce wood: is more beneficial and faster then the other clones;
• The major resistances at all fungal diseases if compared to the other clones on the market;
• Woods technology characteristics: remarkable behaviour of the rotary cutting, rotary cut veneer assigned for the highest's quality class, absence of tension wood and with an high percentage of sheets with excellent quality that they appear of light and homogeneous colour (for poplar Plywood and Multilayer panels), versatile and resistant material, perfectly suitable for other types of panels (Particleboards, Fiberboards, Medium Density Fiberboards and Blockboard panels).
